# Vjosa Rafting Albania

> Guided whitewater rafting and kayaking on the Vjosa — Europe's last free-flowing wild river — based in Përmet, southern Albania. Trips run spring through autumn and suit complete beginners, families and experienced paddlers.

Vjosa Rafting Albania operates from Përmet, on the bank of the Vjosa in Gjirokastër County. The Vjosa runs 272 km from the Pindus mountains in Greece (where it is called the Aoös) to the Adriatic and is undammed along its length. On 15 March 2023 it became Vjosa Wild River National Park, the first national park in Europe created specifically to protect a wild river.
