How much does Vjosa rafting cost?
Vjosa rafting tours cost €35 per adult and €30 per child. The price includes all equipment (wetsuit, helmet, life jacket, paddle), a professional guide, safety briefing, and a 2-3 hour rafting experience on Class II-III rapids. You can pay in full by card or PayPal when you book, or pay cash on the day.
Is Vjosa rafting safe for children and beginners?
Yes! The Vjosa River features Class II-III rapids which are suitable for beginners and families with children. All participants receive professional safety equipment and a thorough briefing. Our experienced guides are trained in swift-water rescue and first aid. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
What is the best time to go rafting on the Vjosa River?
The rafting season runs from April to October. Spring (April-May) offers higher water levels and more exciting rapids. Summer (June-August) provides warmer water and is ideal for families. September-October has beautiful autumn scenery and pleasant temperatures. Tours run daily at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
How do I get to Vjosa Rafting in Përmet?
Përmet is located in southern Albania, approximately 3.5 hours from Tirana by car via the SH4. From Gjirokastër it's about 1.5 hours, and from Sarandë approximately 2.5 hours. You can also reach Përmet by bus from Tirana (daily services). We provide exact meeting point coordinates when you book.
What should I bring for rafting?
We provide all necessary equipment (wetsuit, life jacket, helmet, paddle). You should bring: swimwear to wear under the wetsuit, water shoes or secure sandals (no flip-flops), sunscreen, a towel, and a change of clothes. Waterproof phone cases are recommended. Leave valuables at the base, where there is a secure place for them.

The Vjosa is Europe's last major free-flowing wild river, stretching 272km from Greece through Albania to the Adriatic Sea. In 2023, it was declared Albania's first National Park, protecting its pristine ecosystem. Rafting the Vjosa offers a unique experience — crystal-clear turquoise waters, stunning canyon scenery, and untouched natural beauty found nowhere else in Europe.
