Every trip is booked online at book.vjosarafting.com. You pick your date, choose a departure time and reserve your places in a few minutes. The trip itself is a guided 7.6 km descent of the Vjosa, Europe’s last wild river, through the rapids and canyons just outside Përmet in southern Albania.

What does a Vjosa rafting trip cost?

A place costs €35 per adult and €30 per child. That covers the full guided 7.6 km run, your safety equipment and a certified local guide. You pay the full amount online by card or PayPal, or in cash when you arrive in Përmet on the day of your trip.

What time do the rafting trips leave?

There are two departures every day, at 10:00 and 14:00. The morning slot suits people who have stayed in Përmet overnight or who set off early from Tirana. The afternoon slot works well if you are driving across from Gjirokastër or up from the coast that same day.

What is included in the price

• A certified local guide in every raft, trained in swiftwater rescue, first aid and risk management.
• All safety equipment: helmet, life jacket, wetsuit, neoprene booties and paddle.
• A full safety briefing before you get on the water, covering paddle commands and what to do if you come out of the raft.
• The 7.6 km guided route through Class II and Class III rapids.
• Return transport between the meeting point and the river.

Bring swimwear to wear under the wetsuit, secure footwear, a towel and a change of clothes. There is more detail on gear, age limits and water conditions on our safety and equipment page.

What is your cancellation policy?

We do not issue refunds at any notice period, including 24 hours or more before departure. What we do give you instead is flexibility: date changes are free, name transfers are free, and your booking stays valid for 365 days from the original scheduled trip date. The full terms are below.

Changing your date

Date changes are free of charge. If the weather turns, your travel plans shift or you simply want to come another day, contact us and we will move your booking to any available departure. Your booking remains valid for 365 days from the original scheduled trip date, so there is no rush to decide.

Transferring your booking to someone else

Name transfers are also free. If you cannot make the trip but a friend, relative or fellow traveller can take your place, just tell us the new name and we will update the reservation. There is no admin fee and no limit on who the place can be passed to.

Refunds

To be completely clear: no refunds are given at any notice period, including 24 hours or more ahead of the trip. In exceptional and genuine circumstances we may agree a discretionary partial refund. Where we do, between 20% and 50% of the amount is retained to cover bank and payment processor fees, which we cannot recover once a payment has been taken.
